Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
1. Who this policy is from
GanitVeer is operated by IgniVeer Ventures LLP (LLP ID ADA-0847), registered at 2nd Floor, 472/7 Balaji Arcade, AVS Compound, Koramangala VI Block, Bangalore - 560095, Karnataka, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the GanitVeer website and how we handle it.
Participants are children. The child is the person the data is about, and a parent or guardian is the person who registers the child, gives consent, and manages the account.
2. What we collect, and when
At registration, we collect:
- about the child: name, date of birth, school, and city; and
- about the parent or guardian: name, phone number, and email address.
Only if a child is a provisional winner, and only at that stage, we additionally collect the documents needed to verify the win and pay the prize: a proof-of-age document (birth certificate, school certificate, or Aadhaar), a photograph of the child, the parent or guardian's PAN, and bank account details.
3. How we use the data
- to register the child and run the championship;
- to take payment for the registration fee;
- to produce and deliver the child's individual skill report;
- to send championship notifications, such as telling participants that results are out;
- to verify winners and pay prizes, using the winner-stage data above; and
- to meet our legal, accounting, and tax record-keeping obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only where it is needed to run the championship:
- with our payment processor, to collect the registration fee and to make prize payouts to winners; and
- where we are required to disclose information by law or by a lawful request from a public authority.
5. Storage and security
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure. Winner verification documents are held in private storage that is not publicly accessible, and access to them is restricted to the review needed to verify a win and pay a prize. We take reasonable measures to protect personal data, though no online service can promise perfect security.
6. How long we keep it
- Registration data is kept in line with standard business and tax record-keeping requirements.
- Winner verification documents (proof of age, child's photo, PAN) are kept through prize payout and for the statutory tax record retention period, after which they become eligible for deletion.
- Bank account details become eligible for deletion sooner, once the prize payout is confirmed.
7. Rights of the parent or guardian, and contact
A parent or guardian may ask us to access, correct, or delete their child's personal data, subject to the record-keeping obligations described above. To make a request, or to ask a question about this policy, email support@ganitveer.com.
8. Data protection under the DPDP Act, 2023
This section describes how IgniVeer Ventures LLP approaches the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 for the personal data we handle in operating GanitVeer.
Who we are (Data Fiduciary)
The Data Fiduciary is IgniVeer Ventures LLP (LLP Identification Number ADA-0847), registered at 2nd Floor, 472/7 Balaji Arcade, AVS Compound, Koramangala VI Block, Bangalore - 560095, Karnataka, India. IgniVeer Ventures LLP determines the purpose and means of processing personal data collected through the GanitVeer platform.
The child is the Data Principal
Because participants are children (under 18 years of age, and on this platform aged 5 to 10), the child is the Data Principal under the Act. The parent or lawful guardian acts on the child's behalf for all consent and rights-related actions on this platform. Our registration flow enforces the age eligibility gate strictly: only children whose date of birth places them within the eligible age range at the time of registration may be registered.
Personal data we process and why
At registration: We process the child's name, date of birth, school, and city, and the parent or guardian's name, phone number, and email address. This data is used for the sole purpose of administering the championship: verifying eligibility, taking payment, producing the individual skill report, and dispatching the achievement gift.
At the winner verification stage (winners only): We additionally process a proof-of-age document for the child, a photograph of the child, the parent or guardian's PAN number, and bank account details. This data is used solely for the purpose of verifying the win and paying the prize. It is not used for any other purpose.
Basis of processing: verifiable parental consent
We process personal data on the basis of verifiable consent given by the parent or lawful guardian on the child's behalf, obtained before any personal data is collected or payment is taken.
Before collecting any data, we present a clear notice at the point of registration describing the data collected, the purposes for which it is used, the parent or guardian's rights, and how to contact us. Consent is requested only after this notice has been presented.
How we obtain and record verifiable consent
At registration, before any data is submitted:
- The parent or guardian is presented with a notice describing what data is collected, why, and what rights they hold.
- The parent or guardian is required to check a consent box containing an explicit declaration: "I confirm that I am an adult (18 years of age or older) and the parent or lawful guardian of the child named in this registration. I consent to the collection and processing of the child's personal data for the purposes stated above."
- A separate, optional checkbox allows the parent or guardian to consent to receiving updates about future GanitVeer seasons. This can be declined without affecting the registration.
The consent declaration and the timestamp of submission are recorded and retained as part of the registration record.
Payment is taken through our payment gateway using a payment instrument in the parent or guardian's name, which serves as a corroborating signal of adult identity.
No behavioural tracking or targeted advertising
We do not use a child's personal data to build a behavioural profile of the child or to direct targeted advertising at the child. We do not engage in behavioural monitoring of children. This is an absolute and unconditional commitment under Section 9(3) of the Act.
No detrimental effect
Processing of personal data on this platform is limited strictly to the purposes stated above. It is not undertaken in a manner likely to have any detrimental effect on the well-being of the child.
Security safeguards
We maintain appropriate technical and organisational security safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and loss. Details of the specific measures we apply are described in the security section of this privacy policy.
Withdrawal of consent
A parent or guardian may withdraw consent at any time by writing to support@ganitveer.com. Withdrawal of core registration consent will result in the child's registration being cancelled. We will stop processing personal data upon withdrawal, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, payment and tax records under applicable financial and GST regulations). Withdrawal of the optional marketing consent can be made at any time and has no effect on the registration.
Retention and deletion
- Registration data is retained in line with standard business and tax record requirements under applicable Indian law.
- Winner verification documents and PAN are retained only through the prize payout and the applicable statutory tax record retention period, after which they are eligible for deletion.
- Bank account details are eligible for deletion as soon as the payout is confirmed and any mandatory audit trail requirement is satisfied.
- When data is no longer required for its stated purpose and no legal retention obligation applies, we will delete or anonymise it.
Your rights and how to exercise them
A parent or guardian may exercise the following rights on behalf of the child:
- Right to access – to obtain confirmation of what personal data we hold and to receive a summary of it.
- Right to correction and completion – to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Right to erasure – to have personal data deleted where it is no longer needed for its stated purpose and no legal retention obligation applies.
- Right to withdraw consent – at any time, as described above.
- Right to grievance redressal – to raise a complaint and receive a timely response.
To exercise any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer at the address below. We will acknowledge and respond to grievances within a reasonable time, and no later than ninety (90) days, in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
If your grievance is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.
